If I were to tell young Marianne—who, on her very first visit to Sephora, spent a total of 3 hours wandering around the store in a dream state—that she’d be naming makeup shades when she grew up, I like to think she’d be quite proud of current-day Marianne. There is nothing cooler to me than swiping a lab formula and coming up with a million potential color names to fit the bill, and it’s always a fun, collaborative effort with the product development team to solidify a name that is both voicey and communicates the impact of the formula.
